Position: Program Associate, Center for Women’s Economic Empowerment (Bratislava-based)

Contract type: One-year Fixed Term contract, with a possibility of extension
Start date: ASAP/ by agreement
Basic wage component (gross): starting from 1,600 EUR/month/full-time based on experience


Position: Program Associate, Center for Women’s Economic Empowerment (Bratislava-based)
Reports to: Program Officer, Europe (Bratislava-based)

Scope: CIPE is seeking a full-time, position based in Bratislava, Slovakia for a Program Associate to cover programs focusing on women’s economic empowerment. This position is responsible for assisting in program implementation and supporting the regional leadership team based in Washington, D.C. and Bratislava in tracking the organizational, logistical, administrative, and financial tasks involved in completing programmatic work.

Responsibilities:
Programmatic Responsibilities

  • Work with the Program Officer and the regional leadership team based in Washington, D.C to support planning and execution of CIPE external events, which includes: 
    • Assist in the coordination and execution of all aspects of event planning, preparation, and execution including venue selection, vendor management, scheduling, logistics, meals and networking events and management of event flow.
    • Support travel arrangements for attendees, including coordinating flights, accommodations, transportation, and visa requirements as needed.
    • Support the regional team in creating and maintaining event agendas, timelines, budgets, checklists, tracking documents and other documents related to the event.
  • Work with the Program Officer and other the regional leadership team based in Washington, D.C to coordinate project management deliverables and activities for the portfolio, which typically includes:
    • Assist active project partners to ensure high quality deliverables, including financial, and narrative reports.
    • Monitor grantee, contractors, and consultants’ performance to ensure quality control in full compliance with procurement policies, financial reporting requirements, and evaluation plans.
    • Collaborate with multiple CIPE departments to achieve programmatic goals, including Centers of Excellence, Field Offices/In-Country offices, Communications, Grants and Finance, and other regional teams.
    • In coordination with supervisor, oversee contract fulfilment internationally which includes maintaining regular communication with contractors, updating narrative and financial reports, vetting final products, and corresponding with contractors to submit the final paperwork.
Financial Oversight
  • Monitor and track payment requests, project spending rates, accounting documents, travel expense reports, and documents for signature in close coordination with Grants and Finance teams.
Other duties may include:
  • Develop and maintain programmatic, financial, correspondence, and contract files.
  • As needed, translate partner documents or other programmatic materials.
  • Adhere to appropriate CIPE and donor policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to public outreach and communications, which may include managing social media accounts, writing blogs, and drafting promotional materials, in collaboration with the Communications department when appropriate.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or years of equivalent experience required in one of the following or equivalent fields: International Relations, International Business, Economic Development, Political Science, Regional/Area Studies or Public Policy.
  • 1-2 years of administrative or event management, planning, or coordination experience is beneficial, but not required. Additional degrees/education will be accepted in place of work experience.
  • Interest in the topic of women's economic empowerment is a plus.
  • Professional proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Excellent interpersonal, coordination, and communication skills.
  • Ability to take initiative, prioritize and manage multiple, detail-oriented tasks simultaneously with limited supervision.
  • A keen attention to detail is required.
  • Strong computer skills, proficiency in MS-Office, specifically Word, Teams, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to develop and monitor project budgets.
  • Ability to work in a diverse team environment, across time zones and hybrid setting.
  • Flexibility to collaborate with a diverse team or work independently and deliver consistent, reliable results.
  • High degree of cultural competence.
